Dear Child of Mine,
Do you know how much I love you? Do you know that everything I do, I do out of love for you. You are my reason, you are my life, you are part of me and I will forever thank God for the gift of you belonging to me.
Baby doll, even though I am your mom, I am not perfect. I make mistakes. This is only being human. If we never had trials, we would never understand what it means to desire, to fight or to even love. It is the work that follow failures that make me a better mommy for you.
Sweetheart, I am sorry. If I have not let you down yet, please know - I probably will. This is not because I want to, but because we are all growing up together. Just because I am much older than you, I am still humbly asking for you to show me grace when I fall.
I can’t give you the world right now, but even if I could, I wouldn’t. This would not be good for you. You see, I am stronger for having to fight for what I wanted and for what didn’t come easy to me. What I will give you is my undying and unconditional love that I ask for you to place in your heart and turn to, when you are not by my side.
My sweet love, did you know that you can do anything you want? Not just because I say you can, but because you will truly have the power when you believe in yourself. I am so excited to see who you become and how kind you will be.
As you grow, you will face differences. You will feel struggle and have hesitation in your decisions. You will get through them if you always listen to “you” and not others. Their voices should always be respected but should never impact what you know is right for you.
My sweet angel, you always hear me reminding you to say please and thank you. This is because your manners will take you places a big fancy title cannot.
When you feel as though, the answers are not clear, you feel scared and not sure where to turn- please know…my arms, no matter how far or how old they become, were given to you to fall into.
